Each squadmate comes with a loyalty quest that allows the player to know much more about their motives. Instead of six squadmates you get 10 plus two downloadable character (one of them being a free download). Combat is more refined now and the game plays more like a Gears of War type third person shooter. There are much less skills and skill levels allowing much less freedom in your character's progression. The story was better in the first game, which makes sense since ME2 is the middle part of the trilogy. There are some major changes so it kinda depends. Any suggestions.Is Mass Effect 2 better than the first? I was wondering if I should buy Mass Effect 2 since it will only be 40 dollars at Best Buy.
I have beat Mass Effect 1 and thought that it was really good.
